    Natural French Soap

Soap to me is one of those things that needs to be done well, or not at all. I really have a dislike for poor quality soaps that don’t smell nice and strip the skin of moisture leaving it feeling dry and uncomfortable. I much prefer soaps that smell amazing, clean the skin, but also make your skin feel hydrated, soft and smooth. I have found in general that the more natural the soap, the more likely they will have the soft luxurious feel as opposed to poorer quality soaps which are hard and harsh on your hands/skin. Quality is important to me with bar soaps. I am always on…

    Starting Off: Foundation

We are into the third week of this Starting Off Project already, scary how fast time flies! So this week we are talking about foundation. Foundation can be quite a tricky one to get right, but it is definitely worth spending the time doing so to get it right so you can get one to suit your skin type, give the right coverage, and also the right colour for your skin tone. Starting with some information about the different types of coverage you can get from foundations, you get 4 levels of coverage really, sheer, light, medium and full. Sheer coverage won’t cover much at all, but will give you…

    Maybelline Baby Lips

So over the last couple of weeks I have magically ended up accidentally buying 6 of the Maybelline Baby Lips…. whoops! I do have a good reason though! (Or what I perceive to be a good reason) – which is clearly the same thing! 🙂 So what happened was… these were launched, I got excited, found out they were only £2.99 each and on 3 for 2 so I bought three! Then I was playing with a tester of the Peach one (purple tube) and really fancied that one so was going to just buy the one, but they were still on 3 for 2. That totally makes it okay! 😀…

    Starting Off: Concealer

So this is the second post in the Starting Off series! This week is focused all around concealer. Concealer itself comes in many different forms and consistencies, some costing a small fortune, others costing £1, and then all the others in between. Today I will explain a bit about when/how to use concealer and give 5 different examples of concealers I like. First off, why might you want to use concealer? Concealer is generally used along with foundation to hide any imperfections/blemishes on the skin to either conceal redness or just to help even out the skin tone. It can be used to cover break outs, spider veins, dark under…

John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Shampoo and Conditioner

In this post I will be doing a review on the John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Shampoo* and Conditioner*. As some of you may have guessed from previous posts, I really love my hair care and hair styling products and I am always trying out new things. I have tried these out for a while before reviewing as I do with all products, not just after the first use as I find that you generally need to give products a chance to work for you. This is the moisturising shampoo and conditioner from the brilliant brunette range, but they have various other ranges on their website so will most likely to have…

    Real Techniques Makeup Brush Haul

So the other day I was in Boots and noticed that the Real Techniques Makeup brushes were on offer – buy one get one half price. Soo you can imagine what happened next. In my defence….. they were on offer. Well I had been wanting to get some more makeup brushes for a while, and knew I liked the Real Techniques ones as I already owned a few – but seeing them on offer sealed the deal for me. In case you don’t know, the Real Techniques range was created by Sam Chapman who is a pro makeup artist, and also has a YouTube channel with her sister (also a…

    Starting Off: Skincare

If you read my last post you will know that I am taking part in the Starting Off project – which is a series of posts going up, one a week, for the next 10 weeks with each post focusing on one specific topic. The point of this series is to help younger teens or anyone who is unsure/very new to makeup and skincare! So this week is week one and it’s all about skincare! Skincare itself is so important. Not just for the overall health, look and feel of your skin (not just for now, but when you get a bit older too) but it also gives you the…

Benefit Stay Flawless 15-hour Primer Review

This post will be on the Stay Flawless 15-hour Primer from Benefit. I did a quick mention of this in a post a short while ago when I reviewed the Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation by Benefit saying that I was liking it so far but wanted to use it a few more times before I did a full review, so used it for another full week before writing this! I like to use a product a lot/for a long time before doing a full review as I feel that sometimes it can take a while of using the product, getting used to the product, and finding the best way it works…

    Natural Collection Body Sprays

So today I present to you… the Natural Collection Body Sprays! Natural Collection is one of Boots own brands, which is very much a “cheap and cheerful” brand, and these sprays are no exception. I am a huge lover of fragrance, so can be a little picky when it comes to what scents I wear/have round me, but I must say these have impressed me for their £2 price tag! Left to right we have… Strawberry, Vanilla, Passionfruit, Mango & Papaya and Apple and Lime. They do have other scents in the collection but these 5 are my favourite ones. So for just £2 you get a full 150ml bottle…

Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Liquid Foundation

This post is on the liquid foundation Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow by Benefit. It’s an oil free foundation (which I love as I have combination skin) and is really build-able, from a very light layer right up to a pretty full coverage, without looking cakey (massive win). (If anyone is curious I am the shade “Im pure 4 sure IVORY”, though if I have any tan on, I wear “believe in me IVORY”.) This foundation is £25.50 for 30mls, which may sound a lot to some of you, but believe me this is worth it! I feel that somethings you can easily get cheaper dupes of (for example lip liner…
