    Starting Off: Eyeliner

Eyeliner is without a doubt one of my favourite makeup items. For me it completes a look and just helps to accentuate your eyes, which personally is how I like my makeup to look most of the time. If you have never used any eyeliner before, applying it can be scary. Applying it across your waterline/lower lash line when using a pencil liner is fairly easy to get right from the start, but I remember when I first tried to use liquid liner on my top lash line… it did not go well. I ended up with an uneven line, bits missed, and the rest smudged and all over the…

    Bumble and Bumble Thickening Hairspray

I am always on the lookout for new thickening/volumising hair sprays and other hair products, as my hair is long and quite fine, and so can sit quite flat if just left. I first heard about the Bumble and Bumble Thickening Spray via blogs and youtube, so thought I would look into it more as it sounded like something I may have been interested in, the only thing that put me off was the price really, as it’s around £21.50 for a 250ml bottle… but a few weeks ago in Elle magazine they were giving away a travel size bottle of it for free, so I thought I would give…

    Starting Off: Mascara

This weeks post is on probably the one item people own, even those who rarely use makeup, it is of course, mascara. Mascara is important for a few reasons, and if you ask anyone the single most important item in their makeup bag, I would bet nearly every one would say mascara. Mascara can help make your lashes look fuller, thicker, longer, more defined, more curled and healthier – depending which one you chose and what you want that particular one to do. The best way to apply my mascara I have found is to get the brush horizontal and level with the base of your lashes, then wiggle it…

Hi Kammi’s readers it’s Jess from over at www.dungarees-and-donuts.co.uk, here to bring you a guest post I recently came across Kammi’s blog during a beauty bloggers chat and I loved it and when she asked if anyone was interested in doing a guest post I was delighted to do one, it’s a little late because I’ve been so busy the last week but here you are Kammi and readers! I decided I would review the Urban Decay Pallet which I recieved  a few months ago as a present I have only used three of the shades- Gravity which is a deep purple…

    No7 BB Lips

In this post I will be reviewing the BB Lips range by No7. The first thing I will say about these, is that they will be nothing like you would expect! At first look they look like a highly pigmented/really opaque lipgloss, with a lipgloss texture/feel to them… they are pretty much the opposite! When swatched on your hand they have a very pigmented look to them, on the lips they are very sheer with only the slightest hint of colour. They look like a lipgloss, and if you rub it on your hand they feel like it too, and yet on the lips they feel like a lip balm.…

    Starting Off: Blush

This weeks topic for the Starting Off Project is blusher. Firstly I will say, I am not a big fan of “rules” with makeup, and especially not blusher. I do agree that some shades will suit some skin tones better than others, but on the whole I feel it is just a personal choice so you should choose which ever shade you like the look of on your skin! You can apply it however you feel it suits your face, but I will give some examples of different ways you can try it out and see what you like. You could apply it just to the apples of your cheeks,…

    Biotherm Hand Cream Review

This post is most of a guest post I put on Jess’s blog a few months ago as a guest post, but I have decided to modify it a little and add in new pics, so that all the readers of my blog can get the benefits and information out of this post also. This review is of the Biotherm hand cream. I will put up a picture of the standard one first, but also a picture below of the Charity Edition one I got as the packaging is really pretty. I love hand creams, I really feel it is important to keep your skin hydrated and moisturised as much…

What’s in my Birchbox? September 2013

I did a post showing you all what was in my August Birchbox and the feedback was amazing, with everyone telling me they wanted me to do another! So I have done one for this months also 🙂 I love getting my Birchbox through each month, it’s so exciting! Paying less than £15 a month to get a box delivered to your door with at least 4-5 deluxe samples in, sometimes even full size products, and not knowing what you are going to get, is amazing. For anyone curious, this is what the box itself looks like You also get a magazine each month too full of information, tips and…

    Starting Off: Bronzer

So this week is all about bronzer. First off I will say that I didn’t use bronzer for quite a long time when I started with makeup, but now it is one of my few “staple” items I use daily, you just have to get the right one for you 🙂 So can anyone use bronzer? And does everyone need to? The answer is yes and no. Anyone and everyone can use bronzer if they want to, but no-one needs to if they like their look without it. I am very pale skinned and for a long time I avoided it in fear or going orange or having dark stripes…

Giorgio Armani Si edp Perfume Review

This post is a look at the new fragrance by Giorgio Armani called Si.   This really is such a beautiful fragrance. It has been brought out as his new premium fragrance, and you can really tell. Straight from the Armani Beauty website it says “At once chic, voluptuous, intense, and soft, Sì lingers on the skin and enchants the senses.  The perfume combines 3 notes: blackcurrant nectar, modern chypre, and blond wood musk with touches of freesia and May rose.” It doesn’t smell like blackcurrant to me, but there is a definite fruity sweetness to it initially, which settles right down once allowed to develop onto the skin. It…
