What’s in my Birchbox? September 2013
I did a post showing you all what was in my August Birchbox and the feedback was amazing, with everyone telling me they wanted me to do another! So I have done one for this months also 🙂 I love getting my Birchbox through each month, it’s so exciting! Paying less than £15 a month to get a box delivered to your door with at least 4-5 deluxe samples in, sometimes even full size products, and not knowing what you are going to get, is amazing. For anyone curious, this is what the box itself looks like You also get a magazine each month too full of information, tips and…

Starting Off: Bronzer
So this week is all about bronzer. First off I will say that I didn’t use bronzer for quite a long time when I started with makeup, but now it is one of my few “staple” items I use daily, you just have to get the right one for you 🙂 So can anyone use bronzer? And does everyone need to? The answer is yes and no. Anyone and everyone can use bronzer if they want to, but no-one needs to if they like their look without it. I am very pale skinned and for a long time I avoided it in fear or going orange or having dark stripes…

Giorgio Armani Si edp Perfume Review
This post is a look at the new fragrance by Giorgio Armani called Si. This really is such a beautiful fragrance. It has been brought out as his new premium fragrance, and you can really tell. Straight from the Armani Beauty website it says “At once chic, voluptuous, intense, and soft, Sì lingers on the skin and enchants the senses. The perfume combines 3 notes: blackcurrant nectar, modern chypre, and blond wood musk with touches of freesia and May rose.” It doesn’t smell like blackcurrant to me, but there is a definite fruity sweetness to it initially, which settles right down once allowed to develop onto the skin. It…

Natural French Soap
Soap to me is one of those things that needs to be done well, or not at all. I really have a dislike for poor quality soaps that don’t smell nice and strip the skin of moisture leaving it feeling dry and uncomfortable. I much prefer soaps that smell amazing, clean the skin, but also make your skin feel hydrated, soft and smooth. I have found in general that the more natural the soap, the more likely they will have the soft luxurious feel as opposed to poorer quality soaps which are hard and harsh on your hands/skin. Quality is important to me with bar soaps. I am always on…

Starting Off: Foundation
We are into the third week of this Starting Off Project already, scary how fast time flies! So this week we are talking about foundation. Foundation can be quite a tricky one to get right, but it is definitely worth spending the time doing so to get it right so you can get one to suit your skin type, give the right coverage, and also the right colour for your skin tone. Starting with some information about the different types of coverage you can get from foundations, you get 4 levels of coverage really, sheer, light, medium and full. Sheer coverage won’t cover much at all, but will give you…

Maybelline Baby Lips
So over the last couple of weeks I have magically ended up accidentally buying 6 of the Maybelline Baby Lips…. whoops! I do have a good reason though! (Or what I perceive to be a good reason) – which is clearly the same thing! 🙂 So what happened was… these were launched, I got excited, found out they were only £2.99 each and on 3 for 2 so I bought three! Then I was playing with a tester of the Peach one (purple tube) and really fancied that one so was going to just buy the one, but they were still on 3 for 2. That totally makes it okay! 😀…

Starting Off: Concealer
So this is the second post in the Starting Off series! This week is focused all around concealer. Concealer itself comes in many different forms and consistencies, some costing a small fortune, others costing £1, and then all the others in between. Today I will explain a bit about when/how to use concealer and give 5 different examples of concealers I like. First off, why might you want to use concealer? Concealer is generally used along with foundation to hide any imperfections/blemishes on the skin to either conceal redness or just to help even out the skin tone. It can be used to cover break outs, spider veins, dark under…

John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Shampoo and Conditioner
In this post I will be doing a review on the John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Shampoo* and Conditioner*. As some of you may have guessed from previous posts, I really love my hair care and hair styling products and I am always trying out new things. I have tried these out for a while before reviewing as I do with all products, not just after the first use as I find that you generally need to give products a chance to work for you. This is the moisturising shampoo and conditioner from the brilliant brunette range, but they have various other ranges on their website so will most likely to have…

Real Techniques Makeup Brush Haul
So the other day I was in Boots and noticed that the Real Techniques Makeup brushes were on offer – buy one get one half price. Soo you can imagine what happened next. In my defence….. they were on offer. Well I had been wanting to get some more makeup brushes for a while, and knew I liked the Real Techniques ones as I already owned a few – but seeing them on offer sealed the deal for me. In case you don’t know, the Real Techniques range was created by Sam Chapman who is a pro makeup artist, and also has a YouTube channel with her sister (also a…

Starting Off: Skincare
If you read my last post you will know that I am taking part in the Starting Off project – which is a series of posts going up, one a week, for the next 10 weeks with each post focusing on one specific topic. The point of this series is to help younger teens or anyone who is unsure/very new to makeup and skincare! So this week is week one and it’s all about skincare! Skincare itself is so important. Not just for the overall health, look and feel of your skin (not just for now, but when you get a bit older too) but it also gives you the…
