Book Jar!

So this post is going to be on my newly made TBR Book Jar!

(For anyone who doesn’t know, TBR stands for To Be Read, so basically all the books I own but haven’t read yet).

I actually did not realise how many books I had that I hadn’t read yet, and it is shameful yet exciting at the same time! Part of it is because I also own a Kindle, so I buy proper books, and then end up reading some free ones on my Kindle first! That plus some series have quite a few books in them.

So the book jar, I got this idea from Rincey Reads on Youtube (click here to see her Book Jar Video), and loved it straight away so knew I had to do this as well! I know she wasn’t the first to do it, but it was this video she did that made me want to do my own!

Here is mine:

Book jar 1Book jar 2

So basically the idea is that you write down the name of every book you own that you haven’t read yet, and cut it into a strip, then fold it and pop it into the jar, then when you finish one book, you can reach into the jar and bring out a title at random, and then read that next. I like this idea as not only does it look fun and colourful, but it takes any decision making out of what book you want to read next, plus it keeps things varied as you don’t know what you will pull out!

I have only recently made my jar and I am currently reading Hidden by P.C and Kristin Cast so I haven’t tried it out yet, but I feel that it will be a good aid in my reading! It will also help keep my reviews on here really varied as we will no doubt be jumping from genre to genre.

If anyone else has made a book jar, leave me a comment and let me know! If you have a picture of it on your blog or a video on youtube then link me! 🙂

I have never seen a book jar before. It’s a lovely idea … I make do with toppling piles of unread books all over the floor! x

Haha I know the feeling! Mine are all up on shelves but you can see how many I have that haven’t been read yet! This takes the hassle out of trying to pick which one to read next! 🙂 x
